Achievement Award

The Achievement Award is provided to the organisation whose work illustrates effective practice and has an evaluation to testify to the project’s activity and outcomes.

The 2008 Award was awarded to Peer to Peer Prevention Programme, Ugandan Youth Development Link (UYDEL), Uganda

The project beneficiaries are out of school vulnerable young people aged between 15 to 24 years in disadvantaged slum urban communities that are characterised by high crime rates, violence, HIV/AIDS, gambling, child labour, commercial sex work and illicit activities.

The Runners Up Were:

  • De Sleutel, Belgium for their “EU-DAP Faculty: A European Network of Trainers Against Drug abuse: Unplugged”
  • CARE Clubs, Seychelles for their “Campaign for Awareness, Resilience and Education against Substance Abuse”
  • Associacao Prevenir, Portugal for their “Growing Up Playing” project.
