Youth Big Idea Award

The Youth Big Idea Award is provided to support a new prevention initiative identified by young people for piloting and evaluation.

The 2008 Award was awarded to Center for Smart Youth, Addictus-Philippines Youth Organization, Philippines.

This project will use the prize money to help set up a centre of drug prevention and resistance for the out-of-school children and youth in a drug-infested urban community in Metro-Manila (Tatalon, Quezon City)

The Runners Up Were:

Youth and Women Empowerment (YAWE) Foundation, Fort Portal, Uganda with their “Youth behavior change communication training and drug abuse awareness project
Eastern Africa Regional Youth Network, Kenya with their “Dance 254” project.

Achievement Award

The Achievement Award is provided to the organisation whose work illustrates effective practice and has an evaluation to testify to the project’s activity and outcomes.

The Innovation Award is provided to the organisation whose work indicates significant promise for achieving effective outcomes in preventing drug abuse but which may lack the evaluated evidence.
